I had a transvaginal ultrasound done today for irregular menses. It felt a little uncomfortable (just a lot of pressure feeling) at first, but then I started getting really sharp pains on the left side. What could this be? Everyone I talked to said that I shouldn't have experianced any pain. Please let me know if you have any suggestions about this.

Answer:

i had the same ultrasound done to check for cysts. i really dont think that the pain is in any way related to the ultrasound. since the test is painless and has no side effects i think its just a coincedence.

alternatively, the pain could be a cyst, which was the cause of my pain on the righthand side. either way, the results will show if there is anything irregular on the left side. (the cysts can be the reason for irregular periods)
