Answer:
There are several things that should help. If you consume any caffeine, wean yourself off of it very slowly over time. In the meantime, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, take a multi-vitamin, flax seed oil or fish oil, 200 mcg (I believe) of Vitamin B-2 2 x a day. Also be sure to get your optimum sleep (whatever is right for you), keep your blood sugar steady with frequent small snacks and exercise regularly. I understand your wanting to go the natural route, but if it gets to be too much on your own you might consider taking an ergot inhibitor, a blood pressure med or topamax. (A doctor (neurologist) can prescribe those.) Another tip for sinus related pain: if you think a headache might be related to a sinus infection: take fresh garlic cloves or garlic pills for three to four days. The sinus infection and headaches will be gone. Good luck. I've been there. P.S., the one that made life livable for me was Topamax regularly. The prophylactic meds just treat the symptoms and seemed to give me a withdrawal type or re-bound headache. Advil See a doc for migraine medicine such as imetrex or midrin etc. If you get them often ask your neurolgoist about trying some meds to help prevent them. sleep, thats all I can tell you, unless you can get your hand on vicodin or fioricet Excedrin-it's specifically targets migraines or sleep pain killers and sleep is the best way for me and if u haven't eaten anything u should try eating that be a reason why the migraine occured I've found all that works for me is lying in a dark, silent room with an ice pack over my eyes and/or forehead. One tip I'll pass along at the risk of sounding odd involves trying to think it away. What sometimes works (some) for me is concentrating on where the pain is beating with each pulse in my temple. Then, I imagine the pain as a sort of drum, with a big hammer striking blows. I picture sliding a big pillow between the hammer and the drum, and honestly this visualization technique sometimes works. Hope it--or something similar--works for you. Treatment of a migraine already in progress usually consists of a drug therapy program chosen from a variety of painkillers, sedatives, and special prescribed medications. |
