Chamomile tea is great for this, too. excedren pm Most OTC sleep aids are just Tylenol or Ibuprofen with diphenhydramine. I say it's not necessary to take the above mentioned pain killers unless you are in pain. That leaves diphenhydramine, also known as Benadryl. The above folks have said it. Just wanted to add that I asked my doctor about this recently and his answer was "none of them." He told me that they were bad for the heart. He teaches medical students about the subject so I feel comfortable trusting his judgment. Try Merysendol or Dolased. They are painkillers but also have the calming effect of Doxylamine Succinate. Dolased is the go. U might have to answer some questions about why you are taking it. Just say you have no valium left or some other prescription sleeping aid. Valerian is excellent.
