The common cold is caused by a virus. That is the ONLY thing that causes the common cold. Stupid people who like to never wash their hands and take showers and stuff and have bad hygene are responsible. the common cold is caused by the adenovirus (most commonly). there are other viruses that can cause it as well. bacteria don't usually cause the common cold. not washing your hands ,staying inside during the winter too much (yes i said inside!) shaking hands ,not taking your vitamins. This is the most honest answer you will get Weakened immune system causes us to be more susceptible to colds/flu. Not covering your mouth when coughing, not washing your hands....things like that.

Take tons of Vitamin C....I do, and I haven't had the cold yet. germs.....like on the bathroom door, ATM machine, shopping cart etc.....Your hands! A weakened immune system.
