Im looking into purchasing Rogaine for an older friend of the family, but I'd rather not buy it for her just to get her hopes up if it doesnt actually work.. so I would like to have some information about this product from people who actually experienced the results, whether good or bad..

Answer:

Yes and no.

It worked on me, but it explicitly says in the instructions that it will not work perfectly on everybody. So the success of some is not necessarily proof that it will work on your friend. They'll only know if they try it.

In addition to that, it is messy and difficult to use. I have found that I like being bald better than I like using Rogaine, but it is purely a personal choice. It does not hurt to try it out. My results, as far as growing hair is concerned, were positive. The results in me shaving my head, however, have been even more positive. Everyone loves it. Bald is not necessarily a bad thing.
