If you're looking for a less intense fast that is safe, I would do the fruit juice fast. You drink nothing but fresh juice the first and second day, and then you add solid fruit the third day. And of course lots and lots of water. Fasting is extremely unhealthy, and if you're trying to lose weight it will only make your body store more fat once you start eating. The best detox is an aalkaline diet, it's the most natural diet and although you can do a strict 10 day challenge, if you can stick to it you'll have optimal health. Your body is about 70-80% alkaline and 20-30% aacidic, therefore it makes sense that you would eat mostly alkaline foods. The average western diet is fair to high in acidic foods. There are plenty of websites with more info, but the basics are, lots of water and fresh foods, no animal products as these are acidic and contain chemicals harmful to the body, no sugar and no irritants such as yeast, garlic and onions.
