Does Javanese Massage cause Muscle ache?
Quickly Book mark.

Not long ago had my first Javanese Massage, during the massage I encounter some pain (aching) especially when the therapist rubbed my shoulder blades. A few hours after the massage session, I have muscles aches along my shoulder blades. The therapist told me is because of my stiff neck and shoulder. Is it normal for first timer to encounter such aches??

Answer:

Like with any massage, it can cause some discomfort especially if your massage therapist was not very knowlegable in amount of pressure to apply and where to apply it. Worse case scenario, she may have caused some muscle spraining. I would recommend taking tylenol for the next week or so. If the pain does not lessen, consider going to a doctor, just to make sure there is not any serious injuries. In the future, make sure your massage therapist is licensed in your state, and tell them that you had problems in the past with pain, and they will be more gentle with you. Hope this helps :)
