As someone who works in a pharmacy I see alot of patients that are perscribed one thing and then we have to call and have the dr change it becuase it is not perferred or because the copay is too high for the patient to pay. I see it as a negative for the patient as they arent getting what the dr orginially perscribed, the pharmacy spends lots of time on the phone trying to find out what the insurance company will cover cheaper in the same drug class instead of the original script, then we call the dr and they spend time on what to change it to

The only benefit i see is for the insurance company they are too cheap to pay for what some people need or they have little agreements for perferred drug companies...make it a generic copay or a brand copay!
