This is to hopefully help with pain in my eye. On the packet it says not to expose my skin to direct sunlight. Does this include my face? What will happen to me if I can't stay out of the sun?

You can get a sunburn very quickly with doxycycline. If you will be outside put a sunscreen or sunblock on your face and back of hands. A sunblock like zinc oxide is best since it will not let any sunlight past. Yes this means your face. It simply means you need to wear sunsreen on any body part that is exposed when you go outside but you should already be doing that anyway. Doxycycline makes you more sensitive to the suns harmful rays so use a sunscreen.
