ok this is hard for me.. just today i have been getting these weird feelings in my chest.. im 24 years old and i havent been exercising.. i have a 20 month old.. i eat right and i am a stay at home mom.. my heart or chest.. whatever it is feels like my heart is beating out of my chest for a second and it is almost like a muscle spasm.. it beats hard and flutters fast and i feel like the wind got sucked out of me for a second.. can anyone tell me if it could be serious? pain... well since i had started them today.. i did get 2 episodes of pain... but not on the heart side.. my right side chest.. weird huh? well the fluttery feeling comes with my heart pounding and it happens only for a few seconds.. please tell me what i should do.. thanks.. :) Answer:You should get in and see your regular doctor and have him draw up some labs to see what your cardiac enzymes look like and also to run an EKG. Also, he needs to refer you to a cardiologist to have a holter monitor placed on you that you keep with you for a couple of days. But most importantly, if you are having chest pain, go to the ER or call an ambulance, it is better safe than sorry. I too am 24 and wind up hospitalized 1-2 times a year for unknown chest pain, I also have a cardiologist that I see every six months to run a series of tests. Could be a heart problem,,,or it could be panic attacks! Either way, you need to see your doctor right away, just to make sure that it isn't something serious,,,or go to the ER and get it checked out,,, I really think you should see a doctor, it could be heart or it could be an anxiety attack. Either one can be serious. Are you drinking a lot of caffeine? You can get palpitations from that. Might you be having an anxiety reaction to stress? I'd look up anxiety attacks on a trusted medical web site. When I used to get heart palpitations, either straining (like you're trying to push something out!) or coughing would get the heart to settle. I had to stop drinking two shot lattes! If the episodes continue, it might not be a bad idea to consult a physician to get a diagnosis. Kind of sounds like a stress reaction to me, but I'm just a mom!!! It very well could be acid reflux. Your body could be producing too much acid . It has same effects like heart pain. Now still go ahead and get tested for heart stuff.....but dont forget that it could be acid reflux also. |
