I am completely fed up with my acne after trying numerous products and dealing with it for about 7 years. I am ready to try acutane, because I have heard that it clears it up pretty quickly. Has anyone used acutane, and if so what kind of results did you have? Was it damaging? or did it work pretty well?

I know some people who were on it and it cleared up their acne pretty much permanantly. Now me? I have been on Accutane for my 3rd time. I started on it when I was 12, 14, and now. It cleared it all up but about a year later it all came back. And well, I have been struggling. But I have to say Accutane is the best thing out there. Just make sure you take care of your skin well during it and even after take vitamins and all of that to help prevent it from coming back. no, consult dermatologist My friend did, he had cystic acne and really looked, and felt bad Started on Acutane, other than the blood tests he had to take to make sure that it was not harming other organs, his skin cleared up great, a little dry and scaly at first, but has beautiful skin now. It was also very expensive, but may have come down in price since then. Good luck..so long as this medicine is monitored by a physican it is great. I personally have not tried it but my sister has used it off and on for years,especially when she was a teenager to her mid twenties.It worked wonders and cleared her skin to the point it became to dry,but being to dry is better than having horrible acne.I just try to use benzoile peroxide every now and then because my skin is not as bad as hers.I suggest you give it a try.The doctor should be able to prescibe the right dose for you.Strong stuff.Take care and have a good day...Tom Science 4 Yes I have. I used it for 5 months when I was 14. It dried out my entire body and made my lips really chapped but it completely changed my life. It was 3 pills a day and I had to take a pregnacy test once a month cause its a dangerous drug... but it was SOOO worth it. I know some people are afraid of it cause it has the potential to damage your liver/kidneys but I'm 22 now and have had no problems... I'd do it.
