my ortodontist wants me to have this done b4 i get my braces on. my husband thinks it just another plea for money. Also, he wants me to have Damon brackets.. he said they cost the same but everyone says they are alot more. I have no insurance and i really dont want to get screwed over.....comments?? thx

I had to have several veneers put on, and i went through braces twice, however, before i got my veneers put on, and after i got my braces off, i had to have gum scraping. I think that if you need it, you should definitly get it. It could prevent gum diease later on (which will end up costing you alot more money) so either way, its much better to get it done now. good luck! yes i had my upper gums fixed that way . i wish i had the money to have the bottom ones done but i dont . i didnt have to pay for the top ones because of severe asthma so it had to be done in a hospitail good thing too they said i had a very severe attack during this operation
