have any of you had open heart surgery? i've had 4 in my life and im beginning to not wanna show my scars, its really hard because its almost spring, and i dont want to where long sleeve shirts all the time. also, once i get a boyfriend how do i tell him? do you think ill scare him off?

my 17 yr old daughter has had open heart twice. she now has an artificial valve. her scar doesn't seem to bother her at all. she is one of the bravest ppl i know and any guy who doesn't want her because of her "scars" is not worth her time.

I had open heart surgery a little over 2 years ago, when I was 33. Personally, I am so proud of my scar, and I show anyone who wants to see it (and many who don't particularily care to see it). I'm not sure why you would have to wear long sleeved shirts, though.

If I were you, I would embrace your scars. They are a physical reminder of how strong you are and what you went through. And any boyfriend worth having is going to love that about you, and will be just as proud of your scars as I think you should be. The Scars of open heart surgery are the least of your problems. Just be thank-full you came thru it O.K. and don't worry about the Scars, they will diminish in time. Nope! Not if he really love's you. If a man really love u like he say he will never leave. Regardless. You cant change the way God had wanted u to be. So,be happy with your self. Try some coco butter for your scares. If that doesn't works go to the dermatologist they should give you something for it. So your scares would blend a little into your skin.Don't EVER hate your self because someone don't find u attractive. i've had 3 open heart surgeries. my recent one was 3 yrs ago.
