I am taking Candesarten 8 mg. If I leave them off for a day, I certainly feel better. When I mention side effects to the Doctor they look at you as if you are imagining it.

I was on 'high blood pressure pills' for some time, and I have noticed an 'emotional change' when on one type of pill, but not from others. If you are telling your doctor and he's not 'listening' to you but looks at you as if you are 'imagining it' then you have some important decisions to make. If you otherwise 'trust' your doctor completely, then you should get a PDR (Physician's Desk Reference) or Pill Book (that is the actual title of the book) and look up the Candesarten (8 mg.) and read ALL of the possible 'side effects' to see if you can find the one you are having (depression and anxiety) there ... if you do find it, you must 'copy' that whole section out (using a copier) and 'highlight' the two 'symptoms' you are having and take that to show to your doctor. If they aren't in either of those books, that doesn't mean that they 'can't happen' ... only that they were not seen 'enough' during testing to 'count' as a possible side effect. Then you may simply TELL YOUR DOCTOR that you 'refuse to take' this drug any longer, and if he wants you on high blood pressure medication then he'll have to find another one for you to 'try' ... and ONLY IF YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE GOES DOWN and you have 'NO SIDE EFFECTS" should you 'continue it.' It is YOUR BODY and your doctor is there to 'help you with health issues' not to rule your life ... and if your doctor 'refuses' to change the medication you may simply 'change doctors' until you find one that you can 'trust totally' and who will 'listen to you' when you are talking to him. Nonsense. Lots of people have side effects from taking blood pressure medication. That's why there is all that information on the package inserts telling you what the side effects may be. Did you read it? If your doctor looks at you funny when you tell him about these feelings, you need another doctor. Well i only take asprin for mine ask your pharmacist.they have more knowledge about tablets than doctors do I take Ternomin 25 and they do have side effect, they calm me down. ask them to change them it sounds like there doing more harm than good...i had really bad palpitations!! Hey, you are NOT crazy. This is how side effects get reported to the FDA--by patients (and manufactures) reporting things that happen to them when they take certain medications.
