Has any one heard of Geographic tongue?

My son gets this occaisionally - usually when sick, just wondering if any one has ever found anything to help with it.

Answer:

Please see Google search for more details and images on Geographical tongue. Man, I haven't heard this term since I was a kid.

I had been "diagnosed" with that. Not much of a problem though. In fact, it has all but disappeared.

Sort of a nice opening line though, "Hey baby, how'd you like to see my map?" I have it and as far as I know 1 in 10,000 have it but i dont know of any illness connected with it, its a permanent thing but not harmful, just odd ridges and grooves in the tounge, so either there are different types or the term is being confused. Yes I have heard of it.

My doctor said it is nothing to be concerned with and it is just fine.

Great question My fiancee has this condition and you can see her results before and after (trying mangosteen juice) on my website. I do not publish the page anylonger as I am working on making it compliant with the companys regulations. The results are amazing for her and if anyone would like to have this information e-mail me.

This is her story on my webpage, the pictures are amazing but removed from this message.

My name is Angela and as you will see by the pictures, I have what is known as a geographic tongue medically known as benign migratory glossitis, and glossopyrosis. I have had this condition since birth and there is no known cure. This condition is a allergic reaction to certain foods. I鈥檓 sure you can tell by looking at the pictures that I was in a lot of pain which limited my ability to eat certain foods, primarily citric fruit and spicy foods. I used to avoid those things which are beneficial to proper health and diet. Unfortunately, I was unable to eat these types of nutrient rich foods because it was just too painful.
