Got UTI,do i have to rest as much as i can?
Quickly Book mark.

I got an UTI and i've seen a doctor. He gave me antibiotics called trimetophrim. Its been 3 days and it still hurts. I also take cranberry tablet. I am just wondering if I have to rest more cause I've been doing a lot of activities. Could this be the reason why Im not feeling better? Im really hoping to be completely healthy cause this UTI really irritates me =(. Thanks

Answer:

Your work won't directly make you recover slower from UTI. The important thing is to take in fluids as much as you can. Having more activities sometimes mean that you sweat more, therefore you need to drink more. Also you might not go to the bathroom as often as you'd like when you're busy with work and this can aggravate your UTi as well.

If you work in an office, and your environment allows you to take frequent sips of water, as well as allowing you to go to the bathroom as often as necessary, then work shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise, a few days rest from work will indeed help.

My suggestion is that you keep taking lots of fluids, and take bathroom breaks as often as needed, avoiding holding back your urine. After your course of antibiotics, see your doctor and have another urine exam done. This will confirm if you need stronger antibiotics or not.

Good luck. Call your doctor back and tell him that after 3 days of treatment your are still having pain. He will probably have to prescribe something else. Not necessarily; you should drink more water to relieve it....UTI is an infection in our urinary tract which primarily contributes to our intake of fluids...no matter how many your activities are, as long as you drink adequate water....UTI can be relieved.

Drink at least 8 glasses a day.
