is there any other disease/illness that will give one similiar or the same symtoms as gallstones?

Also do gallstones havr to require surgery or if it is not too bad can meds and oain meds be given to get rid of them-and are kidney stones similiar to gallstones as in the symtoms or do they produce diferent symtoms all together? Thank you so much for any info at all you may know

kidney stones cause flank pain whereas gallstones cause right upper abdominal pain. pancreatitis can cause sharp abdominal pains similar to gallstone pain. some gallstones pass on their own and may resolve completely with dietary modifications, so you don't necessarily need surgery. I personally have had both gal stones and kidney stones.

Kidney stones are a sharper pain more on the side.

Gal stones the pain can be sharp but also you will feel pressure. Both will usually produce nausea.

Both need to be taken care of by a doctor. If the pain is bad, both conditions need to be seen in the ER

Kidney stones can be taken care of by ultrasound vibrations that disolve the stones so that they can be passed.

Gal stones can be removed by removing the gal bladder in laperscopic surgery. If the gal bladder gets too bad it will need major surgery. I have known people who have had gallstones and only suffered one or two attacks I had them 4yrs ago and i suffered attacks every fortnight for 7mths before i was called up from my local hospital to have them removed the pains would come on with no warning and last for 20min to 2hrs nothing seemed to relieve them i would describe them to be like childbirth labour pains without the couple of minites in between they are not a nice experience would not wish them on my worst enemy
