my normal temperature has been below 98.6 for past many years, basal temperature used to go upto 96 degree. i had a throat problem in beginning of Jan7 . doctor prescribed azythromyicin which did not have any effect, then gave me cefixime and as last option ciprofloxacin. Since all these medicin did not have any effect on my throat problem, i went to ENT specialist who said my lyrinx is clear and prescribed me pantoprazole for GERD -3 weeks course. but i still have irritatiing cough at night, and have to clear my throat even after this course. My normal temperature has below average for more than ten years. the peak was about 98. sometime my basal temperature used to go down 96 degree but generally between 96.8 -97.2 Now the problem has become severe i am losing apetite, my mouth feel bitter, and lost about 1.5 kg - wt 71. kg - height 6.11 age 54 . normally work out every day. i routinely take several blood test. all are normal. my haemogram has remained almost same since 1993 Answer:I think your temperature--all the readings---are normal. Usually your hover around 98.6, so 97 is normal, so is 99. Sounds like your problem IS related to acid reflux disease. Try this site: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/heartbu... If you have been treated for GERD and felt better while on medication, you may need to rely on it long-term. The loss of appetite, cough, weight loss, alll that is associated with GERD. You may want to consider a longer, if not permanent, course of the proton pump inhibitors for GERD. If the one you were taking didn't work as well as you would have liked, there are many others you can try. Different meds will work for different people. the next time you see your doctor, ask to get your thyroid checked out, by doing a blood test for your t3, t4, and tsh levels if you haven't had them checked b4. If the levels aren't normal, ask to see an endocrinologist. An interesting website to go to is thyroid.com. Hope everything works out ok Are you allergic to sulfa drugs? |
