  Answer:

me and my husband who is 40 were told by my obgyn that men have no age limit on baby making, he told us that the woman is the one effected by age not the man, diabetes should not effect your sperm no,the actual age is 25 Maternal age plays an infinately larger part in fetal chromosomal disorders than does paternal age. You need to have kids when it feels "right" for you. I know many men that didn't have their first kids until they were well into their forties and a few even early fifties. Many married couples often have a "second" set of kids after the first have left for college and they begin to feel the "empty nest" syndrome. I think it's becoming increasingly common for both men and women to have kids later in life. if you are diabetic does it run in the family? that is one question you want to ask is it goin to be passed down if not then no worries your not the one carrying the baby the mom is the one who has to worry about gestational diabetes or any diabetes you may have increased sugar levels once you have the kids cause your going to need all the energy you can get once you have this kid..that is when you have to worry about your diabetes and your child..goodluck I don't know much about this issue, but I really think most of the problems with diabetes and having babies lies with the women. They have the complications that can affect their health as well as the babies, and they need to be closely monitored. I don't think diabetic men really have much to worry about, truthfully. Best wishes. It really depends how "strong" your swimmers are. I would suggest getting a sperm count completed by your doctor which would tell you how healthy your sperm is.
