I am 38 years old with no history of heart problems in family. Today was my 3rd trip in two years to the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. Pain in left arm, palpataions, shortness of breath, pain in chest and neck. I took a zanax when it began, because they tell me it is a panic attack every time. I was told again today that my EKG looked normal. This time the doc told me it could be a pinched nerve causing the pain, and then I react causing the other symptoms. Could this be the problem? Answer:Anxiety attacks have symptoms that are very similar to heart attack symptoms. If you want to stop having panic attacks, take these three amino acid supplements: SAMe 5-HTP L-Tyrosine These have stopped my symptoms altogether. If you really have a pinched nerve, go to a chiropractor. I wouldn't opt for any kind of back surgery except as a last resort. Seeing as how I don't have a medical degree, and your doctor does, I would suggest you listen to her/him. Possibly. What caused the nerve to get pinched? Have you done some overexerting recently to cause the nerve to get pinched? Just make sure you follow up with your family physician in a few days or whatever the ER MD told you to do. (Hopefully he told you to do that). Good Luck. Are you willing to take the advice of ByeDR.com responses instead of your own doctor,I got some ocean beach property in Nevada for sale that comes with it's own 2000 feet waterfall They should do a test to see if this is a pinched nerve. Granted you don't have a degree as the last person stated, but even the doctors can be wrong, that is why they call it "Practicing Medicine,' which is also why you should always go and get a second opinion when in doubt. However I am in agreement that itis not a heart attack. Go to another doctor for a second opinion. From there try going to a massage therapist to relax all f your muscle, which will prepare them for an adjustment. Directly afterwards go to a chiropractor for an adjustment. You want to be sure to get a massage right before that appointment, other wise if you are tense (which I am betting you are extremely tense) then your muscles will just pull the chiropractors adjustment back out of place, and put you right back where you are at. I would also recommend that you see a counselor, that way you have someone that you can talk to , and getting problems off your chest will be a big relief, and might get the pain off of your chest also. The last thing I would recommend is that you get a blood panel done. You want to get your hormones checked, and also the blood clotting factor, hormones can play a big role in a number of problems, and blood clots can cause the sensation of a heart attack depending on its location. But you may need to take a blood thinner. I wish you the best, and highly recommend a second opinion.
