My 13 month old has the beginning of pink eye. His doctor prescribed him eye drops but its not easy getting them in his eyes and he cries and cries so all the drops get cryed out. I don't like putting them in his eyes anyway... his doctors also said something about warm water rinse, how do I do that? Any tips on how to get him to keep his eyes open?

Answer:

The reason he cries is the eyedrops burn like heck!!

My nephew gave pink eye to just about the whole town lolol we were all on those drops and as an adult I was surprised at how much it hurt!

For the warm water rinse just wet a clean washcloth with warm water and gently rub/clean his eyes in between using the drops. {ISOLATE THESE CLOTHS, pink eye is very contageous}

Kids often pick up pink eye from grocery cart handles {not the only thing on those cart handles either} and some stores offer wipes to clean them with, I think they are special wipes and not just all purpose.

In the future try to find the wipe dispenser at the store & if your fav store doesn't offer them then suggest it to the manager! There are many studies to support the germs/bacteria on cart handles and even e-coli on the seats! {think of that next time you put your purse down lol} 1. Lay child on back

2. Child will close eyes

3. Drop one drop in nose corner of closed eye

4. When child opens eye, it will run into the eye

5. Repeat on other side.

6. These antibiotic drops do not burn.
