these red bumps all over my chest and arms and the top of my head, I have nnot yet been to the doctor about this because I do not have insurence and if I go to the emergency room the charge WAY to much. I tryed using sunblock but it dont help at all I even got the strongest SPF. I dont know why this happens and its getting worse! I also cant even go in a tanning bed because the same thing happens...... I have took benadryl but that dont work either. So does anyone know what this might be and a way to fix it? Thanks in advance =D Answer:You're allergic to the sun. Stay covered when you are in the sun, from head to toe. I don't know what causes the sensitivity but maybe an allergist can help you. I know they have needles that desensitize people to certain allergies. I don't know if there is something that would do it for the sun. Usually people with red hair are very sensitive to the sun, and very, very blonde people too. But what you are describing sounds like hives which is an allergic reaction. And yes certain medications can make your skin very sensitive to the sun as can some lotions. Likely there are diseases too but I couldn't tell you. Eventually you will want to look into this. Some medications will make you do that. If you are taking anything, you might want to think about stopping it or staying out of the sun while on it. But since you don't have insurance that probably isn't the case. Try changing your soap and your laundry detergent. And even your lotion could be causing a UV reaction. A dermatologist can help you with this so I recommend you get some insurance unless you want this problem to continue. Also there are some diseases that can cause this to happen such as a blood disease like Porphyria. This website will tell you more about the disease. |
