March 1, was effective date. We still have heard nothing. Don't know if I'm still covered by pervious carrier. I have very important surgery scheduled for March 19th on my eyes to save vision and disfigurement. It has been a rough two years with this disease that has threatened to overtake my ability to do the job I love and have enjoyed for about 7 years now. I worry this surgeon won't be in the "network" of new carrier. It has been exactly two weeks since our company applied. Does anyone have any information on what I should do or if I might still be covered by prior (I don't think it has been canceled yet) insurance or how that works? Thanks.

Answer:

Talk to your HR person. They should be able to tell you if the new insurance is in effect and they should also have the information from the new insurance with which doctors are in the network. I know Humana has done a similar thing to me They just give me the run around when I call Call your Primary Dr's office they should be able to call the insurance for you & solve this problem Good Luck
