I get really dry skin in the winter, especially on my knuckles. They get to the point where they crack and bleed. I use lotion everyday, but sometimes it stings when I have open cuts. Vaseline is too greasy to use during the day. Any suggestions? Answer:Use vaseline at night (generous amount) and put on gloves to keep it concentrated on your knuckles and not evaporating. During the day, use a lotion for extremly dry skin, or something that says ultra healing. Do not get scented stuff, for this will sting even more than regular lotion. Try Jergens Ultra Healing, or Avon brand is pretty good. Also, protecting your hands out in the cold with gloves and mittens helps to prevent overdry skin. And drinking lots of water improves the condition of your skin as well. use lotion for dry skin Lather on the vaseline and a real good dry skin lotion at night and tie plastic bags (or get the plastic baggies that fit your hands and finger (hairstylists use them) This keeps the lotion on you all night long, penetrating deep in to the skin. Lather your hands with a good lotion a lot during the day, concentrating on the knuckles - massage it in to them. it's starting to get warmer out, so it should heal soon. Don't over wash your hands. And, when you do wash your hands, remember to use lotion immediatly after. try Aveeno for ur body.n the lotion KRACK for ur knuckles. it worked for me. i can understand vaseline becom dust absorber. There's a cream called No-Crack Hand Cream. Its the BEST. Put it on liberally before you go to bed at night and within a few days you will see a VAST difference. I promise!!!! http://www.restorationhardware.com/rh/ca... Body butter is great. It's like the inbetween of lotion and vaseline. Even better, put vaseline all over your hands and put gloves on before you go to bed. I get really dry/cracked skin and it tends to bleed in the winter months. And someone brought that up to me, and it takes care of it in a few days. Good Luck! |
