my wife said some one came to her college class when she was in school and did this to some of her friends and it worked on them.

but i personally am a skeptic yes it does work. but you have to be willing for it to work. it doesn't work on everyone. it works on some people. This hypnotist came to my school and invited one of my friends on stage. She was compleatly hypnotized.Some other people were faking it, and you could tell. It has limited value. The effect always wears off, even post-hypnotic suggestion. Self hypnosis is better, but even that isn't miraculous. I think it depends on the person, I was hypnostized before and I really don't thinked it work. because I knew exactly what I was saying and telling them, even making things up. I have over 50 years experience as a registered/licensed Hypnotist.

Hypnosis is an aide, not a whip. If you work with it, it is easier.

There is an exception to the above .. In very deep trance suggestions can be given that will cause unpleasant things to happen if you do whatever you are trying to stop. You need to talk with a skilled hypnotist. Never try this by your self,It might work and then you could not stop it.

Stay away from hypnosis shows and friends that read a book on hypnosis.
