My 15 year old sister has had chronic migranes for a year now and has been to multiple doctors, been on many different medications, and has MRI tests done. She is having trouble with blurry vision that comes and goes and occationally complains of muscle aches. Does anyone know a possible reason for these symptoms? The doctors were looking mainly for abnormalities in the brain like tumors and such but found nothing. Answer:Try going to a Chiropractor once, see it that helps any. Hopefully they will find the cause for her and it won't be something serious. Sounds scary My solution for anything that has to do with headaches is to tell people to drink more water and fluids. Lots of people do not drink enough, and dehydration, even mild can cause headaches. Also if she eats a lot of refined sugars it could be a sugar crash. So try drinking more water, or having drinks with electrolytes such as powerade(especially if she's active because the more active the more fluid you need). My husband has been going through the same thing, to no avail. We have made lifestyle changes, not sitting at the computer for long periods of time, cutting out caffeine, and exercising on a regular basis. This has helped some, but not completely eleviated them. Also, we have learned that tylenol can worsen a migraine, pain and duration. Drinking plenty of water is helpfull as well. A cold wet cloth on the forehead at the onset can also be helpfull. Best Wishes to your sister! |
