According to the directions the "white dots" go away after a few hours. I also just read a question where someone used them and the white spots did not go away from her bottom teeth?? I believe many people don't attempt to use them for that reason and I wanted to know from someone that uses the strips right now or has finished a 7 day set. I also know you shouldn't brush your teeth before you use them and everything else like that. I don't care about the sensitivity. Thanks

Answer:

I've heard that the premium work better than the original but I still got the original instead because I am cheap, ha ha. I have a relatively busy schedule and haven't completed the whole kit. I haven't seen any drastic changes so far. But I do know that brushing your teeth with baking soda does work. Do not repeat this too many times because those white strips actually strip the enamel off of your teeth! I have asked the same questions a few weeks ago at the dentist. Perhaps my dentist just wants to have me come to him for the professional whitening, but his receptionist said that the bleaching agent in the Crest strips is a very low level. This is because in order to offer the product to the general public, the FDA restricts the active ingredients. I would probably go and have it professionally done and at least you can return to your dentist if you are not getting the results you are looking for. Crest Whitestrips do work effectively. True, they contain a much lower dose of bleach than what would be found in bleach a dentist would supply but it will bleach your teeth. It will NOT strip enamel off the teeth. You should brush before placing the strips so as to remove any plaque that would prevent the bleach from making contact with the enamel. If you notice white spots developing, stop bleaching. Finally, bleaching won't work on existing fillings or crowns. I've heard they are OK. My younger brother uses them. It looks to me like they are working, slowly though. He's gonna stop using them, says that it's stripping the enamel off. "A product called NatureWhite contains carbamide peroxide is supposed to whiten your teeth dramatically with just one 45 Minute application. It is said to be the same thing that dentists use and that dentists use a 12% solution while NatureWhite uses a 22% solution. Crest white strips, by comparison, have a 3% solution."
