Besides the price, obviously. The Vitality can use all the same brush heads that the Triumph can. The Triumph has a bunch of different speed settings, but I don't think I would just use the normal setting. And the Triumph has a LCD battery display, which is nice, but not essential. Aside from these differences, is the Triumph that much better than the Vitality? Answer:The main difference between these two bushes is the speed and action. Basically the Vitality is 10 yr old technology repackaged and sold at a rock bottom price. It is an excellent brush. The brush head rotates back and forth. The Triumph is faster and vibrates as well as rotating back and forth. If you want the multi action of the more expensive brush you can get it from the Professional Series brushes - any of them that say 3D action will do pretty much what the Triumph will do but without the LCD display. All Oral B electric brushes will use the same brush head except for the Sonic brush. If you have periodontal disease, or recession then I would go for a more expensive brush but if your mouth is basically healthy with normal periodontal pockets then you will probably do just fine with a Vitality. Whatever brush you use be sure that you feel the bristles of the brush tickling on your gums at the sides of the teeth (both tongue and cheek side) to ensure that you have cleaned the entire side wall of the tooth. If you don't feel the tickling then you haven't cleaned all the tooth. Also hold the brush in your fingertips so that you aren't tempted to press too hard and inhibit the action of the brush head. I think the RPMs are higher on the Triumph and it does have all the bells and whistles, but I think the Vitality is fine for most people. Our office sells both and all of our hygienists like the Vitality and we sell it pretty cheap. I wouldn't spend the $70.00 extra for the Triumph. Also, I have the Vitality and I feel that the brush head is a little too large. |
