Yes,but to a very small degree. Your tongue will definitely adapt to it and within about 3 weeks you wont even notice you have it on. The difference in speech has been shown to be very slight and now a days with the braces being low profile ie very flat, its even better.

The more you talk with them initially, the faster you will adapt. nope!!!

if your teeth are cruked then it should help your speech to be more understanding. thats what happend to me!!! not much....negligible.
